Highlights of Apex

Historic Downtown Apex

History, culture, and growth converge in Downtown Apex, the area's thriving commercial district. Here, you'll encounter an eclectic mix of locally owned shops, renowned restaurants and breweries, and a number of must-visit destinations. If you want to live like an Apex local, try catching a show at the Halle Cultural Arts Center or savoring a farm-to-fork meal from The Provincial.

Apex PeakFest

Salem Street comes alive during PeakFest, the town's annual celebration of all things Apex! For more than four decades, this festival has brought live music, vendors, and mouthwatering cuisine to residents of Apex and beyond. In fact, PeakFest draws a whopping 22,000+ visitors to town—and the festivities keep getting grander each year!

Apex Community Park

The 160-acre Apex Community Park is more than just a place where you can relish in the great outdoors—it's also one of the town's most popular gathering spaces! Residents can take advantage of the various sports courts, an Elevate Fitness Course, playgrounds, three miles of trails, a fishing dock, and a lake. You can even rent out a picnic area for your next barbecue!

Apex Farmers Market

Locally grown produce, unique artisanal goods, live music, and so much more await at the Apex Farmers Market. Everything sold at this year-round market is grown or created within a 150-mile radius of Apex, and it's the best way to sample some of our state's freshest local goods. Apex also operates a night market every second Thursday, as well as a weekly market each Saturday.

Shopping & dining

When you're not enjoying all the shopping and dining options that await in Downtown Apex, be sure to branch out and explore the area to find even more unique spots. Locals love spending time at Beaver Creek Crossing and Commons, a massive retail hub that spans across US-64. Beaver Creek features everything from a movie theater to a Target and even dozens of restaurants, so you're sure to find just what you're looking for.

Career opportunities

Apex's ideal location near Raleigh, Cary, and the Research Triangle Park is perfect for commuters. In fact, the town's initial population boom in the 1990s is often attributed to the area's strong demand for technology workers. Wake County Public Schools, Dell EMC, and Apex Tool Group are some of Apex's top employers. However, a number of residents also work for multinational companies—like IBM and Red Hat—in the city of Raleigh.

Local schools

Even if you don't have children, investing in an area with top-rated schools can help boost your property value over time. Luckily, Apex is served by Wake County Public Schools, the largest and one of the highest rated districts in the Carolinas. In total, Apex is home to two high schools, four middle schools, and seven elementary schools. The area also has three private schools and one public charter school.
